Thanksgiving with the Grandkids-2011

Our first thanksgiving together we were very blessed.

We had a total of 13 people in our two bedroom duplex overnight.

It gave us a special time with 4 of the 7 grandkids.

The kids love Mimi and Grandpa Nick's toy closet.

Introducing - Spencer Carroll

 Andrew Spencer Carroll is the 4th of the Carroll Clan and falls in at number 6 of 11. He is 5 days older than Ashlee making him 21 years old. He is a free spirit and loves life. He loves anything daring. I've been told that he has suffered 12 concussions over his 21 years. He does trick biking, sailing, cliff diving and hangs out with the girls. He works fixing up bikes. He also loves his nieces and nephews, who all call him "Uncle Spanky".

Introducing - Patrick Carroll

 Sean Patrick Carroll is the 3rd of the Carroll kids and falls in at number 4. Only four months younger than Ryan, Patrick is 23 years old. Patrick served a mission in England. He returned home in January 2010. He currently is living in Sheboygan, WI. He works for a Honda dealership selling cars. He has a love for sailing. At the end of last summer he bought a sail boat. He fixed her up over the fall and winter. He has spent is spring and summer sailing Lake Michigan, when not at work. He has decided that it is now time to go back to school to get his education and to do that he chose to sell his boat. He has applied to the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, UT. He is currently working to save the money needed for school once he is accepted. Patrick also loves his family and spending time with them.

Introducing - Mitch, Emily and 2 grandkids

Charles Mitchell (Mitch) Carroll, second in the Carroll clan is 25 years old and is married to Emily. They have 2 of our cute grandchildren. Jonathan Charles (Charlie) (5) and Emma Rose (3). With the family living in Oceanside, CA we are not as involved in their lives as we would like to be, however here is the little bit that I know about them.

Mitch is currently serving in the Marine Corp. He has served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He is a wonderful father and husband to his little family. Emily is currently attending school to be a veterinary assistant and is doing very well. Charlie started kindergarten this fall is loving it. He likes to color and create things. Emma accomplished the task of being potty trained this year and loves to play dress up.

hey everyone... I can't wait to come and meet you all soon! I'm getting really big and learning a lot! Hope to see you all soon.

Back to School 2011

You'd think by now that we would be old pro's at back to school preparations, but somehow this day always sneaks up on us. Here the whole crew is ready and chomping at the bit to start the new school year. Abby is now in 6th grade (that's right 6th not 9th or 10th). Brooky is in 4th grade and ready to learn and socialize, as always. Slade is ready for 3rd grade, not sure if 3rd grade is ready for him. Our little Bella is now in 1st grade and was so excited for school to start that she gave us a bi-daily countdown for the past three weeks.

Introducing - Katie, John, and 4 of the Grandkids

Katherine(Katie) Joan is the oldest of Nick's clan. She is 26. Married to John Dean Thurman for 6 years.

I first met Katie last summer in Idaho Falls where she and her little family lived. Spending time with her and her 3 kids while John was in Arizona for his reserve duty, I found out that Katie is an awesome mom. She also enjoys doing the basics of homemaking. Katie does the canning of fruits and vegetables thing. And I think Katie does her research on the things that her boys really love. For example Noah (5) loves airplanes and not just any airplanes he can tell you the names of each kind and Katie does too. Seth(2 1/2) loves trains but mostly loves everything his older brother does.

In December, when Nick moved back to Wisconsin, Katie and John moved with him. They now live in Sheboygan two blocks away from Katie's mom and the kids still at home. John works at a car dealership in the service department as a mechanic, while he awaits a full-time active duty position in the Army Reserves.

They all love the outdoors. Going for bike rides, hikes, and playing sports. On one of visits to Sheboygan all of the kids played baseball in the backyard. This included everyone except for myself I watched and took pictures. Even little Miss Lydia (1) loves to hit the ball and run the bases with mommy and daddy's help.

My daughter Mackenzie laughed for the first time yesterday! After everyone went to bed I was wiping her neck from the puke... and she started laughing... I had to record it for Jeff because he was in Minot ND for work. So, I sent it to him and he loved it. Oh... I also wanted to inform everyone that we are back with Jeff's parents.
